Writer's Block: Friends 4 ever

Do you have a best friend? How old is your friendship?

For eight years I've had a best friend, despite circumstances which have drawn us apart more than we are able to be together.  We've had many, many problems in the form of both controllable mishaps as well as unforeseeable (at least on my part) tragedies, and more than a few times has my world shifted due to these, but we still love each other despite everything.  Our friendship is incredibly important to me even though we now live many states away, and even though the road has been difficult, I'm so thankful that we've been in each others' lives.

Writer's Block: Sorry seems to be the hardest word

If there was one person, living or dead, to whom you could apologize, who would you choose, and what would you say?

I would apologize to my uncle.  For not communicating as much as we should have.  For not visiting more often, and for not really caring whether I did or not until it was too late.  For not realizing this until I wrote it.  For not really appreciating how special and magnificent you were until you were dying.  For not becoming closer.  For not traveling the world together.  For not saying "I love you" every single day.  For not visiting you on your deathbed, because I was afraid.  For not getting to know you better.  For not fighting cancer itself for you, until you could be whole, healthy, and unafraid once more.

I love you, so much.  You are my idol, my uncle, my family.  I will not let your dreams wither, and I will not let your goals be stunted.  Rest in peace, on a beautiful white beach somewhere, the sun on your back and the sand beneath your toes.

This artist is absolutely phenomenal; her art is incredibly awe(and jealousy)-inspiring and makes me squee.  Every single piece of her work is simply gorgeous, and those who enjoy history (especially the American colonial period), aircrafts, science fiction, and/or historic ships and the game Empire: Total War, should really check this link out:

Also, here's an example piece:

Awesome, right?  And there's so much more.  She also has many Halloween-centric pieces, and they're incredibly awesome.

I especially like her style and color schemes, and my love for her subject matter is definitely a plus.  Seriously, this stuff makes me wish I could be this talented.

And, for pictures such as the ones shown above, I feel an incredible sense of adventure, and wish that I could be transported to some of these fantastic time periods.  Just gazing at her work sucks me right in, and if I could somehow harness the powers of the universe and the secrets of the mind I would travel back in time just to witness the events that inspire her.
